Chemical unit operations laboratory

Chemical Unit Operations Laboratory (BMEVEKFA613)

Requirements

Place: DCS

Term: 2019/20/II

Time: Tuesdays 10:15-13:00

Students attend three-hour-long laboratory practices in groups of 3 people. It is required to do each measurement with accepted reports. To start the laboratory measurement one have to pass the entry test at the beginning of each lab. The reason for the test is to make sure that the student is prepared for the measurement both from theoretical and from practical viewpoints. Students need to be prepared for the laboratory practices from the notes to be found below. The student, who is failed at the test is not allowed to perform the measurement at that lab. The final mark for the entry test of one measurement is the average of the attempts. The missed measurement has to be performed at a later time. Reports have to be submitted at the end of the lab practise and it has to be accepted by the supervisor. If the group cannot submit the report on time or it is not acceptable, they have to submit the report within the next two weeks and have to pay a penalty (now it is 3200 HUF for each group member) for the delayed submission. During the first two measurements, this fee does not have to be paid so that students can estimate the depth of preparation needed to be able to present their reports on time. Reports are marked, 2 points for perfect work, 1 point for acceptable report and 0 for one needing corrections. The supervisor evaluates the work of the students individually.

There is only one lab scheduled for missed measurements.

The final mark will be calculated: 50% reports, 50% entry tests. All parts have to be passed.

The lab descriptions can be downloaded from the links below:
